The battle for the planet was not long after that. Many governors who had controlled cities were raising their flags in surrender upon hearing that the Capital was taken over by the Mechanicum. Waves of men attempted to surrender to the Mechanicum as morale among them crumble to dust.
The reasoning was simple, what were they fighting for? Whatever government they had before was eliminated from whatever long history it might have possessed. Best to throw themselves at the mercy of the Mechanicum in hopes that they will be spared a meaningless death.
Much to their surprise they found that this worked. Any who did not possess a weapon found their lives spared as Skitarii began picking up their weapons to be thrown into the transports. Vulture like servitors scoured the battlefield for the last pieces of resistance along with the Skysterylizors to burn whatever pieces of resistance laid above the ground floor.
Those who ran into the country side to keep up the fight, however few they were, found themselves quickly to be the sport of hunters. Knights, whose machines could cross almost any terrain feature without fear, quickly ran down those who were both on foot and in vehicle with mighty chainswords and claws.
Those who were in areas the Knights could not reach found their locations compromised by atmospheric Omnisex systems. Upon discovery their locations were flooded with Astartes who thrived in the close combat that they were found in.
All in all the planet did not last any longer against the Mechanicum than any other foe. Those who were still on the planet found that the hulls of Mechanicum Craft were spacious enough to house millions of their kindred in a sedated state of senselessness. Crammed Men and Women were locked into chains and forced into evenly stacked shelves lined in the thousands. They were all fed a paste that was injected directly into their body, keeping them fed with nutrients while not having to use defecate.
Using this method the planet was quickly depopulated of its people. If there was any resistance left on the planet their death would be guaranteed when the Terraforming crews arrived at the planet to begin its restructuring.
Those who came from this planet will quickly find themselves distributed across the Federation as new fodder for manufactoriums or Servitors. Their lives will be harsh, but nothing can be done about that. Where the adults were treated as they should, the children were given chances that few ever wished for. They were either used to help swell the stock of Proelitor, or indoctrinated into the Scholas that populated the Federation.
