>Call in Agent K for an interview. Ask her about any particular skills, past work experience, preferred weapon, etc.
You decide to call in Agent K before the invasion happens. S-4M couldn't exactly tell what you did in the showers but he still looks concerned.
The agent comes in through the airlock, opening with the permission of S-4M. You decide to stand up to greet her, towering over her.
"Good morning, Agent K. Mind if I ask you some quick questions?"
The agent scoffs at you. Almost amused by how you look, but not in the way you expect. "You remind me of my previous boss in a way. Go ahead, though."
"Well, what skills do you have? I hired you because you were from a 'different city', after all."
With a flick of her wrist, she lights the cig in her mouth. "I had a title but you don't care about that. Let's just say I was one of the strongest Agents out there. Fought ALEPHs and BETs all the time by myself."
"Suppose I'm also good at wrangling disobedient retards. But you already have a HoS for that, even if she's sleeping."
"Duly noted, if very cocky sounding. Your past work experience?"
"Did odd jobs and anomaly extraction for a decade or two now. Managed the facility as a disciplinary head too. Chased after a coffee loving nitwit for another two years." She shrugs, stating everything matter-of-factly.
"Uh huh. What's your preferred weapon? We have a lot in stock, so we tend to let employees pick and choose. Unless it's a PARADIGM, usually." You mark down her answers on a nearby sheet of paper.
"Swords."
"Swords?"
"Swords."
"I mean we got a sword but are you rel-"
Her eyes brighten for a second. "Pft. Trust me, I've dealt with...what do you call them again? PARADIGMS? Yeah. I've spent years messing with them. I can handle a copy of one fine enough."
You can't tell if she's being cocky or serious right then. "Noted. Anything else noteworthy you want to say?"
She nods. "You're too soft with your anomalies. I've read the logs, you damn near coddle these things like actual children. Why is that? Back where I came from, you would Repress them without even questioning it."
You merely shrug. "If it's not necessary, then I don't do it. We have other ways of keeping them in line, usually." Though you feel like you are missing out on certain PARADIGMs by doing so.
She shakes her head. "Sir, your employees need to get used to suppressing them. Killing them needs to be as natural as breathing to you." Wait, killing?.
"Kill? Why would I kill a valuable energy asset?"
"Eh? Anomalies can't die for good. Isn't this basic knowledge?"
"No? As far as I know you can destroy them just fine. Not that we've tried, mind you."
"Hm. Maybe you should try." She blows smoke into your eyes before putting the cigarette out on your desk. You can't stop yourself from gagging on the smoke. "That's all I have to say."
She leaves. Well then, what a weird woman. Are you just misinformed or is this some weird City difference?
