After a brief call with Ulrich, everything is set up. Ulrich’s home will be the place you’ll lay the challenge! He didn’t want his store to be disrupted again, sales are important, or so he says. He will send a driver to take you all there, all paid by him. Yeah, you told him Marcela will join you, he didn’t mind, which surprised you. He has big expectations for you, you better not let him down. This is a welcomed short break, because you need a little time to relax after yesterday’s efforts.
And yes, both Vanessa and Marcela stayed over for the night, they both slept on your bed together, exhausted from eating cake – while you had the solitary confinement called the couch. Marcela handed you over her sleeping bag to make your stay better, too bad you were too big for it, it was a nice blanket though. You’ve slept in worse places, so it’s your age catching up that’s giving you this back pain. You’re a tough guy, you have to pretend you’re not in pain. Vanessa noticed though, and did her best to help your back, you didn’t know she was capable of giving such a pleasant massage! It was her way to apologize for ruining your shirt, the klutzy Vanessa absentmindedly decided to rip it apart to turn it into a dress to look more presentable for today’s event. And she does, but at what cost? Yours, of course.
One car drive later and you’re at Ulrich’s home, you’re being led by his butler to another room where the event will be hosted. It's a fancy place, spacious too. Classic architecture that’s been lost for the most part, the constant battles in Lokyo have made these buildings quite rare. Still not good enough to be considered National heritage and be actively preserved. It’s not like you care too deeply about this topic, but you had a client that did, and you’re echoing his opinion – and made it your own to an extent. You’re rambling, but this makes you think even better of Ulrich, who has been all nice except for pulling a gun on you. But oh well, everyone ends up having something against you, so you might be the problem. You’re about to challenge someone to a duel, of course you’re a troublemaker…
You meet with Ulrich first, no hints of the Professor yet. You have a quick chat to catch up with how things went yesterday. He was joyous to know that Vanessa had a good time. You introduced Marcela as your assistant. Ulrich had a little preview of the cake, just a look and nothing else. The preparations are ready, you just need the professor to arrive.
“Do you believe we could all grab a bite of the cake later?” Vanessa wonders as she’s being the main cake guardian. Some might say that leaving the wolf to take care of the sheep isn’t a good idea, but she’s not a wolf, she’s a domesticated puppy!
