The reigning Emperor is dead. Fallen in battle against barbarian invaders. But it’s not like the fate of a thousand-year-old Empire matters much to you. It has ebbed and waned for centuries now, but it always retained power and splendour enough to bounce back and stabilize, and you are sure it will continue to do so for a thousand years more.
