When fighting a craft as large as a world, certain precautions needed to be taken to make sure that the attackers are not blown out on the assault. After a large amount of analysis and the use of suicide crafts it was realized that the craft truly was as powerful as they come.
However it was also an extremely large craft. Even planets that are devoted to defense will have weaknesses and this craft was not missing any of these weaknesses. Such weaknesses included that fact that they could not concentrate their munitions in a single location for any part of the craft was going to be vulnerable to attacks. Thus several choice sites were decided by the Eldar and it took a few day’s research to find where these were.
So a breach head needed to be made with overwhelming firepower. It was here that having four Primarch truly made things much easier than it should have been.
The initial assault was led by the Flagship of the White Scars, seeing as they were the ones to discover the craft it was their honor to be the spear tip of this assault. They were quickly followed by the Thousand Sons and Blood Angels creating a battlefield filled with the destroyed Eldar crafts which had tried to intercept this spearhead.
There were some Imperial Casualties but none of them were egregious or overwhelming to each of these fronts. As the Federation was present it was seen that the Mechanicum will be able to recover any Astartes who might have been thought lost making most naval casualties null.
As was their right it was the White Scars who rammed their ships into the hull of the Craftworld. As the White Scars had seemingly convinced the Tech Priests of their ships to release many of the momentum inhibitors, the ships were easily able to crash with a speed unlike anything others might have had.
When it came to how the invasion happened it was quite simple for the White Scars. The moment their ships began to deviate and revealed a broadside to the Aeldari craft thousands of Thunder Hawks and Boarding Torpedos were sent flying into the Craftworld.
This was only the start as quickly the Blood Angels did the same, though many of them used Jump Packs to carry themselves across the void and into the holes that so many Imperial Ships had made for them. They were followed by the Thousand Sons who did not seem troubled by the incursion.
It was then, when a beach head was assured, that the Federation arrived. Unlike many of the other ships which quickly left the area those of the Federation found themselves attaching themselves to the still burning hull of the Craftworld.
