>>5427077 Picking up where we left off last time, we rolled a 20, so some heads are gonna roll.As we speak, you’re at the Sanzhi Mountains, surrounded on all sides by sweaty gamers from the Ebonwill Sect and Steelport Society, the two largest guilds in the whole of JSQ, along with their equally sweaty but more plebeian allies. Why are so many tryhards gathering here? Of course it’s because of The Celestial Plumtree, an extremely rare resource that spawns only a handful of times a month. Now again, naturally, you may be asking, “what does this have to do with me?” Well, your good friend Skyfrost decided it would be a great idea to come rat in the chaos, seeing if there’s some way to snag the plumtree right under the noses of both guilds.
The digital sky is fast approaching night as you and Skyfrost make a break for it towards the Steelport zerg. Those pesky Ebonwill bastards actually sent an execution squad for you in a ZvZ (zerg vs zerg). The small barrier of ice that Skyfrost set up earlier won’t hold for much longer, so you spare no expense refreshing movement buffs the moment they expire.
“If they have half a brain, they’ll see through what we’re doing.” Skyfrost comments.
You glance behind. They’re still chasing.
“Doesn’t look like they have a choice but to come for us.” You say.
Compared to your pursuers, you are but a small squad of two. Naturally, it is much easier for you and Skyfrost to weave past the chaotic hordes of players, some of which are clearly not listening to their shot callers and targeting two innocent, wandering players. Most of them are of much lower levels so tanking some of the attacks is a trivial matter. Up ahead, a sea of white and blue, the colours of the Steelport Society, enters your field of view.
Fearsome cultivators, emblazoned with the white crest of Steelport, battle madly with their Ebonwill counterparts. Unlike those from the smaller guilds, they are highly disciplined and follow callouts to a T, paying you and Skyfrost no mind. Now, it would be good if you could find…
“Distant Cloud?” A familiar voice booms from the auditory storm of in-game voice chat.
Well speak of the devil, “Stormgale!” you respond.
This is the leader of the Steelport group you worked with this morning in the Ancient Apothecary dungeon. It looks like his squad was just repositioning.
Skyfrost catches up. “I’ll cut to the chase, we’re here to help but those Ebonwill guys from this morning are on our tail. Can we join your group for the time being?”
“Of course!”
