Things were going well, Guilliman reasoned. These demands were something that he could see as acceptable and useful. Though in these kinds of negotiations, Guilliman had played his hand, he also knew there were things he could give back. If TalOS were looking to gain an additional benefit then Guilliman might be able to take a thing or two back. That was kept staunchly by his desires for technology, which while he lost some control over the tech he now had a reason to place his Astartes and Administrators into the same room as the devices at all times.
What was going to be next? Guilliman had to take a moment to wonder.
“Next, I believe it would be logical for us to prepare a form of transit way between our realms.” the Fabricator General propositioned, “We are lacking a way to move our goods easily from one to the other with the Warp always tearing out upon us. We should look into reinforcing and building up stable warp-lanes between our lands if we are to closer integrate ourselves.”
That was a suggestion that Guilliman enjoyed hearing from someone other than him. There were to be a few issues with it though, “Such a route will require resources to maintain. In the current state of the galaxy and ourselves I do not see how we can easily build it. I am not opposed to it but it cannot be made yet.”
“A reasonable assessment. You need a powerbase to build from, then it can be accomplished. Then you wish to agree but place a timeless delay on the idea?”
“When I am able we will make it. Right now I am not, and if you push your territory too far then it will cause issues with your suzerain.” Guilliman pointed out cleanly and plainly.
“Then that is conceded for now.” His brother agreed while placing his hand upon his chest.
That was likely not the best choice the two of them could have come to but Guilliman could not do it. Not when he was aware of so much more needing to be done for his people and the building of his realm. Building such a lane now would place him at such a disadvantage that it is unacceptable even if it was made with altruistic intent.
It is best not to be the lesser in this relationship. To attack issues like this at equal standing gives both sides power. Once Guilliman has about fifty worlds he will be much more comfortable with joint projects like this one.
