These were all good things to say the least. Which is why you were surprised when the latter caused some discussion and concern.
Gerty spoke first about the iron ore, warning how it could cause both Eastia and Westphalia to make claims over these lands. Meanwhile your merchant vixen and your Mastermind both suggested that you lease it to some investor in Centria who would pay for the rights to mine it. While most of your other wives were ambivalent at Gerty's suggestion, the idea you selling some land— even if it was only temporarily leasing it— wasn't popular amongst your wives. Though this was slightly lessened by Ayane recommending that it be leased to the kitsune, who were much more trustworthy and honest— at least when dealing with you. Herta requested that you wait until the aluminum project was up and running before you tried anything with the iron ore, and then make digging clankers so that you could easily dig up whatever you wanted.
Of course the choice was yours in the end, but it seemed too soon to make a final decision on the question of the iron ore. You really didn't want both Eastia and Westphalia to set their eyes on the place, but then again if you handled things right there might be a mountain of gold to be made...
But there were more pressing matters to attend to. For example, the alluvial placer deposits.
>Have your more labor focused slave-wives begin operations to get metals from the placer deposits. (Uses up the next weekly actions of Cattleya and Bertha)
>Same as the above, but also begin coal extraction operations. (Uses up the next weekly actions of Cattleya, Bertha, and Gerty)
>Attempt to mine all of the found locations, including the coal mine and the iron ore. (Uses up the next weekly actions of Cattleya, Bertha, and Gerty) (A further choice to out a greater effort on mining will be given, but it might require John or Herta to use their weekly action)

After hearing about the exploration that your Cat and your beguiler did, the goats that Gerty was able to capture, you compared their small travels to the maps Ruby Rose made. You noted how Mel had mostly kept to the forests, Cattleya explored the surrounding hills, and Gerty would go towards the mountains. One consistency was how they tended to keep close to the rivers.
This gave you the idea of redirecting one of the rivers to flow closer to your estate, then creating a dam so you could harvest some energy from it, likely in the form of a watermill or a source of hydroelectric power.
