>>5954916>>5954915I'm surprised someone played that game too honestly. It's really hard to explain the charm of shira oka, but I think a huge part is that despite the endings being absolutely batshit insane, they are somehow foreshadowed in plenty of little ways that would make no sense if you didn't know what was coming. With each character's ending you even get to see all the other character's simultaneous endings happen behind the scene, like some events being stopped outright by one character being told to fuck off, or one character dying off-screen and being mentioned as missing during another route. It was part of the inspiration of the 'rumor update' I suppose.
It's still a very janky game, with not the best art and admittedly a lot of repetition (did you know you have to play the game 9 times to get the true ending? And that there is no skip button?) it's still a game with a metric ton of soul, and one I respect for genuinely trying to bring something unique to the dating sim field in its own schizophrenic way.
Really the worst part is they don't let me bang Satsuko.
As for the criticism, yeah, true. I think I always wanted the quest to keep some of the batshit insane level that SO had, but I also wanted to make it coherent within its own logic. Etsy is a tech genius that's closer to a cartoon mad scientist than anything realistic, but I still try to think, 'what would she actually do in her situation.' the answer is probably only make money as needed and be afraid that someone wants to steal my cool secrets to fuck me over.
I know I have a huge problem with repetition, and since I don't proofread myself as hard during this quest, it's even more flagrant here. I did lurk here for a while before posting, but only for like 6 months or so, which is probably peanuts compared to most people here. I was of course much longer on 4chan, but every board's culture is different, so that doesn't mean much.
The truth is I don't have as much time to read, and I can be pretty ADHD brained, so unless the prose is really good and captures me immediately, or it's short easily digestible paragraphs, it can be hard for me to stay focused. I think i'll catch up on a few quests I've neglected to read when i'm done with this one. Thanks for the review, I was a little afraid of being torn to shred, but all the criticisms are ones I already agree with, so it wasn't that bad.
