"I'm glad you asked!" A little spark of blue light emanates from his pockets, as the form of a small, humanoid male pops his head out of Guts' clothes with a Behelit in hand. "Here comes the real protagonist of the story! The almighty elf Puck, always saving Guts in the nick of time."
"A little too full of yourself, don't you think?" Guts chastises the little guy.
"You can deny it all you want, it's still true! If I wasnt out of juice already, you boo-boos would have been gone by now!" Puck flaps his little wings, trying to produce some powder and failing at giving him anything.
"What are you doing with that Behelit!? Throw it away!" You warn for them to stay away from the artifact.
"No can do, Becchi is my best friend! You think this guy over here has anything good to talk about? He's always moping and doping, never has any time to listen and have a real conversation." Puck hugs the Behelit while the thing squirms and squints it's eyes.
"Becchi? What the hell kind of name is that?" You're baffled that anyone who takes himself as seriously as the God Hand would come up with such a stupid name.
"I don't know, you tell me!" Puck grinned, but you're not really sure what he meant by that...
"Whatever... Now that we got that out of the way, I want to know about what happened with the children at the misty village... Guts, did you actually kill them?"
"...Yes. And I would do it again." Guts stays silent before smiling maniacly.
"What, Why?"
"Because I am a monster, what other reason do I need, haha..." Guts avoids responding you, preferring to antagonise you as he lowers his posture.
"Who do you think you're fooling here, edgelord?" Puck shakes his head.
"Puck, do you know what really happened there?"
"You betcha, I was there with him all the way, wouldn't be his pocket medic if he didn't have some good in him..."
"Alright, can you tell me how it came to this then?" Surely he must have had a reason to kill them...
"Sure, but first... Do you have anything on that caravan that could give me a lil boost? Gutsy over here might look tough, but he's on the verge of fainting, and someone needs to give this guy first aid before he drops to the floor. We can have a slower talk once we're done with that."
Puck seems to be asking for food, you're not sure what elves eat, but there could be some fruits that you wouldn't mind sharing. He must not know your magic origins, so maybe you could just heal him and have him heal Guts after that? Healing Guts back to full health would probably transfer his damage to you, and that's not something you can take while leading an escape group... But you're not used to healing small creatures either, hopefully you won't fry the little elf with your Od...
