And I'd rather not spend all this time alone, without my family here with me.”
You can feel the sudden rush of her emotions through the mental link, mainly your wife overwhelmed with a surge of happiness.
“We'll be there!” she answers excitedly after a moment of silence.
“We need to bring our own food along, the Yardratians don't eat like we do.” you tell her seriously. “We'll need to bring over quite a lot.”
“I'm on it.” she replies, ending the mental link as Caulifla runs over. And immediately she looks worried, you turning to face her fully.
“Cauli? What's wro-?” you get out before she flying tackles your face. You catch your daughter as she clings to you, and to your surprise starts sobbing.
“I don' want you to go!” she says, clinging to you for dear life. “If you're gonna stay then I wanna stay too!”
“Easy there kiddo, easy.” you tell her, gently prying her off of you. “You don't have to go back yet. In fact, your mother and siblings are coming here.”
“Wait, really?!” she asks, her tone shocked. “Really really?”
“Of course. “Elder Pybara agreed to train me, so I'll be staying here for awhile.” you tell her. But Momma's gonna talk with Raven, and I'll tell Arctus to leave the ship here for the time being so we can have a portal right back home. So, while I can't go back until it's done, you all can still go train with Teacher and see everyone back home.”
“That's great! I-” she says, then once more her body begins glowing with that familiar dark blue energy. “Well, looks like I'll be back in a bit. Clothes Beam!”
She hits herself with a flash of golden light, changing into her silver armor as she starts stretching out. Then after a few seconds she straightens up and quits moving, her soul moving away.
“Oh? Interesting.” Elder Pybara says, appearing beside you and looking at your daughter. “She can send her spirit elsewhere?”
“Not quite.” you say, explaining that pendant she wears and how it lets her seemingly travel through time to help others.
“That's quite something.” Pybara says, sounding genuinely surprised. “So, how large IS your family?”
