You look around the counts throne for something interesting, anything that could satiate your all consuming boredom. As tantalizing as simply allowing yourself to go insane is starting to sound, you decide that a cursory ransacking of the counts throne may be in order first. Perhaps you could find a sword that you could swing, or a bottle you could drink? Anything will do at this point. Opening drawers at random and sifting through papers, your search bears fruit…
Military documents, recent ones. The counts security is lax, he left such vital paperwork out on his desk for any intruder, such as yourself, to find. Mostly, they are lists and inventories of the fortresses arsenal. One hundred armoured suits, near two hundred ornithopters, and even an entire platform for mobile field command; fancy! Not to mention the two thousand souls ready to fight and die in the name of the empire. Swordsmen, spear men, archers, alchemists, grenadiers, horsemen, and of course astrologists. All at the ready, as if a fight was coming. Unfortunately, other papers reveal what you had already observed for yourself. The Fortresses operational range encompasses nothing but barren rock and sky. Perhaps the count is much like yourself, a caged animal. A restless soldier left to rot in this black prison.
The last document is a surprise, its about you. On it, is what you would expect: a name, a rank, etcetera. More notable, is the attached history of your military carrier and many notes made by your superior officers. "brash" and "insubordinate" comes up quite a lot, one simply wrote "unstable". On the final page you find two interesting lines. "injured a superior officer in an 'impromptu' duel". Odd, how you managed to evade the judiciary noose had escaped you for some time now. An "impromptu duel", someone with the means has covered up what was little more then an attempted murder in front of several witnesses. Second, it seams that your transfer was requested by the Count himself. As far as you know, the two of you have never met.
You had come here looking for a fight to pass the time, but found something more interesting.

- Forget about the whole thing, its enough that you once again escaped punishment for your actions.
- Say nothing about what you have discovered, but seek out the truth of things.
- Brazenly confront him (+2 Instability)
