TalOS noticed that Vulkan was still weighing whether or not he should still give an answer. For indeed there was a question on whether he should trust TalOS at this point. It was then that he finally shrugged and answered, “I apologies brother, things have been odd these last few months.”
“You said you were from a Death World, and the few Death Worlds that are within the Federation have reported issues rejoining the rest of Humanity.” The Leader of Lucius answered his brother as he leaned back, “It is expected that things will be odd. May I learn what you find odd?”
Vulkan could only give a laugh as he heard that and pointed towards an nondescript servitor that was in the far end of the room, “Those people, Servitors. The first time I saw them I was terrified.”
The Machine Spirits that were within TalOS registered several degrees of confusion as he heard that, “Explain further? I do not have enough material to fully comprehend what you speak of.”
“It…” For the first time TalOS saw upon the face of Vulkan a face of confusion, “That is a man.”
“It was a man, specifically Alexander Motatri.” TalOS told his brother as archives were tapped, “He was a petty criminal who started trafficking for Cell Drain operations. He was officially condemned to servitude by the Lexton High Courts with this as a better choice than death.”
“So they are criminals…” Vulkan looked disgusted with a subtle horror displayed, “What is Cell Draining?”
“I do not need to deviate our conversation with a full explanation of its workings.” TalOS said first though he really did want to give that information, “Cell Draining is taking Cells from youth people and transferring them to the old, thus mimicking rejuvenation treatments. After three days, 78% of victims will have died from complications.”
There was a flicker of anger that flashed in the eyes of Vulkan as he looked at the servitor, “You went easy on him. His Spirit cannot learn the pain he gave others.”
“That is because the Machine God grants him this redemption.” TalOS answered as he came to a realization, “So you place a lot of value in the common people?”
To those words Vulkan gave a hearty laugh, “I see value in all people brother! Everyone is precious in their own way.”
“Then what is holding you back from the Corpse Starch is that it is made from manflesh?” TalOS assumed with a raised brow.
That was enough to make the giant deflate, “It is… unnerving to consider the flesh of people as food. On Nocturn we would have burnt our dead in the fires of a volcano instead. I feel that is right, especially with the star you host underneath the soil.”
