>>5880658You stare confusedly at the monster as it stays just beyond the reach of Fushimi's spray. The mystery of what the thing is doing is soon resolved. The loud buzzing is multiplied by many more. A few feet away, you see something land on the other side of the train. Spindly insect legs are similar to the bug monster that attacked the conductor.
There's more than one of them. The thing had been calling for reinforcement. There's no way to tell how many responded to the call from the injured bug.
You hear the screams of terror of your classmates above you as they hurriedly try to close the windows of the train. The sounds of smashing glass, loud bellows of inhuman pain from the monsters, and panicked conversation intermingle into a nightmarish cacophony.
Are you safer than your classmates? Despite being outside of the train? You have no idea, but it's too terrifying to move from your hiding spot. You can't imagine what is going on beyond your sight.
Just as the crescendo of panic comes to a peak, a clarion voice cuts through the chaos.
"Never fear, for we are here, the Knights of the Round Table to the rescue!" A powerful, regal voice takes command of your ears. It's a girl; you don't recognize who it could be.
"Light of Avalon!!!"
A beam of red light falls upon a bug scurrying about and disintegrates it with a single blow. Bits and pieces of the hard chitin shell melt away to nothingness. You lay stunned in your hiding place as more beams of red light fall and hit the bugs. This assault from above forces the bugs to take wing and fly upwards to their attacker to fight back.
There's the slashing of metal on metal, the battle cries of multiple girls, and the general sound of battle.
"Watch out, Gareth!"
"That was mine, Arthur!"
"What are you doing, Lancelot?"
"To me, Gawain!"
You would pay good money to crawl out of your hiding place and look up at what's going on. The only reason you don't is because of the many beams of deadly light falling around. What happens if you get hit by one of them? Probably immediately disintegrated based on how it obliterated the bugs.
The battle rages for a few minutes but is soon over. A silence descends as the last of the monsters are defeated and no more deadly beams of light rain down. The silence is immediately filled with the sound of raucous cheering as students in the train cars celebrate the defeat of the bugs.
"Holy! Real magical girls!"
"Knights? Why knights?"
"Awesome, they killed all those bugs!"
"Thank god, we're saved."
