"Well, we shouldn't wander too far from the truck! Let's try to make some shelter here so we can tough it out! Don't worry, I've got this." You state while cockily pointing your thumb towards your chest. You were practically born in the wilds, how hard could it possibly be?
...
You stare down at the pinnacle of human ingenuity before you. A decently large hole in the sand, dug by yours truly in just a few frantic minutes. It's deep, and wide enough for three people! Four, if one of them is incredibly small! You turn to present your work to your friends, which seem busy building some kind of cover for the bed of the truck out of tentpoles and cloth. You look from your solution to theirs, before you kick some sand back into the hole and walk over to help them like you didn't just waste a few minutes of your time essentially playing in the sand.
Once shelter is built, you opt to sit in the front with Harum while Barbar and Azalea take shelter in the back. Within a few minutes of your shelter being completed, the storm starts to reach its climax. The wind outside howls like a beast, battering and rocking the truck in a way that almost makes you think that something is ramming it.
This goes on for a good thirty minutes, before you hear a distinct tapping sound like someone is rapping on the door. Turning to look at the source of the sound, you make out a figure covered in bandages and tags, standing right outside of Harum's driverside window. Harum looks bewildered at the appearance of someone else in the middle of this sandstorm, let alone someone dressed so strangely, but he cracks the window open to try to talk to the man.
Of course, sand immediately blows in through the window and makes the apeman sputter and shut the window again, apparently causing a chuckle from the bandaged figure. The figure holds up one finger, then begins to mess with something you can't quite see until they hold it up to a window - a little dry-erase board, with the question 'Can I Take Shelter With You?' written on it.
You give a nod, gesturing to the back, and open up your door to go to the bed with the stranger. You have to shield your eyes with your hands and squint in order to stop the majority of the sand from flying into your eyes, but soon enough you climb into the back with the figure and all of your friends save for Harum who remained in the cabin. The stranger bows their upper body in thanks, before settling down into a cross-legged position.
