There is something about this film which is... not right. Is it the power ranger costumes or flat lighting? I cannot quite articulate it, there is something just visually incongruous about the direction of this film (maybe Ridley Scott could have done it better?) Brad Pitt does a fairly convincing historical portrayal in Interview With The Vampire etc and in many many other films, just something about this one felt wrong. I always found his wonky Achilles leg jump-stab power move unintentionally hilarious, this is how all Greek phalanxes fought, by trampoline frog-hopping
