I pulled Eskart up, and he staggered to his feet. Nearly did he fall forward, but I caught him, and he clung to my arm, burying his masked face into my shoulder as I squeezed him until he was stable. He raised his hand, and I let go, stepping back as he corrected his posture. Through his visor, I saw him gaze at me, drying his tears. The Terror was leaving his frailer body, and it was becoming less frail by the second.
He nodded to me, and looked over yonder, to the Ginnungagap, the manifestation of HEUS that wished to unleash itself onto the world through his death.
[ESKART] "For too long now, you have haunted me and my land and people. You were always there all along, the root cause of all these troubles. You spurned the feelings that made people snap, and made me lose faith in myself. You tried to convince me it did not matter that they loved and relied on me... and you almost succeeded. You always have to strike others at their weakest... because in the end, HEUS, you are nothing. You propose to be one with us all, and claim to be our true, most primal nature."
Eskart stepped forward, gleaming with power anew, and the Ginnungagap shivered with each step.
[ESKART] "But for all your Darkness... for all your might, and all your malice, in the end... you are weaker than us all. You are just a bedevil hanging over us all, and it's time we took you down. With or without the Trinity, your reign will end."
[DREAMED GINNUNGAGAP] "NOTHING CAN PREPARE YOU FOR ME, GODS OF ELD ABOVE. I AM YOUR UNDOING. I AM YOUR LORD."
[ESKART] "You failed here today, and you will fail tomorrow. You can be the future, but it will not matter to me. Even if you are the future, we can change you. You'll never delude me again."
[ESKART] "I felt her words, and their truth. I know now... It is time I focused on the now."
[DREAMED GINNUNGAGAP] "WHRRHHGhghrhhg...RhghghghhHRh! ...DAMN YOU QILIN.... DAMN YOU ALL!"
The God of Sorcery reached up and pulled off his mask and hat. He revealed his face, and as soon as he did, the dream itself rumbled when his eyes fell over it.
[ESKART] "Let us end this, Dark One."
