You spent the journey to the Ewing Family’s office deep in thought, looking for a way out of this corner. All other matters were of little concern or difficulty. Aren’t you glad this building is wheelchair accessible? The office itself is nothing to write home about, it’s an office space within an office space, three desks in the middle with some chairs lying around, bookshelves to the side and a lot of paperwork all over the place. First impressions are deceiving, the place has accumulated a considerable amount of dust, meaning they haven’t been here for a while. There’s Bodil’s office right by the windows at the end of the room.
After a milquetoast explanation of the layout and the points of interest (including the bathroom), the floor is open for someone to talk.
“Mama Bodil, I have an idea.” You adjust your glasses with newfound confidence.
“I told you to stay in my office, there’s a TV and a nice couch in there. Relax and let me handle this.” Mama Bodil has completely forgotten why she kidnapped you two. Or she’s really trying hard to be liked now that her original plan is going smoothly.
“Hear me out, please.” You ask politely. “I think I found a way out of our moral dilemma.”
“Shoot your shot, cowboy.” Bodil grabs a random chair and is ready to listen.
You explain to Bodil everything you learned from Kangaroo Man, your most reliable source and a marsupial. If you find the evidence of Ayde and his crew setting that politician girl up, he’ll be in too big of trouble to worry about your rat. Vera took the reins of the conversation by the end there to propose the plan more concretely.
“...If we hand the evidence over to this journalist, we’ll land his butt straight behind bars. I won’t have to worry about this pesky imbecile anymore.” Vera looks as serious as you did. “At worst, he’ll be too busy with the bad press to be concerned about me.”
“Dylan is with the Bray kid, right? Tell him to interrogate him. That brat is too much of a moron to not yip something useful out.” Bodil orders her men around. They both nod and get to it. “Even if the hit is old, knowing Ayde, he wasn’t the only big wig involved in this operation, he must’ve kept some evidence as leverage.”
“There’s real hope!!!” Vera’s face is starting to shine with glee!
“And as far as he knows, the plan went accordingly and I’m still on his side.” Bodil puts her hands together. “We’ll use it to our advantage. Now, go to my office and rest, kids. I’ll talk to you once I get word from my men. Capiche?”
<span class="mu-s">What do you do?</span>
>Hug Mama Bodil and thank her for her help!
>Take the moment to rest and talk to Vera. Ask her how she’s holding up.
>Start coming up with an escape plan to leave the office. You can’t trust these people to do the right thing. Your rat’s security is the most important thing of all.
>Write In.
