[ EASTERLIND CITY : SCHOOL OF THE ASCENDANT ]
Discovering new lands and places was always a treat to me, but I'll never forget the first time I saw Easterlind City. The lights of this sprawling special city were able to light the night sky like a candle in the dark, shining upwards with bright colors and even matching the light of the stars and moon itself.
This place was unlike any other I'd seen so far. Whereas the Imperial Seat was a golden expanding ecumenopolis upon Shengesia, and the Woldorians preferred rustic architectures and preserving their forefathers styles, and most places in Shengesia and Yongesia had favored their resting hill gable roofs, Easterlind was a stretching yonder of glass skyscrapers, concrete and steel. A modern city in every way.
These streets were paved with asphalt and cement, the roads cluttered by people and cars. It was a city of pure excess. There were night clubs blasting, casinos to gamble away fortunes or win them, women working the streets, high class restaurants and lounges in tall towers where the rich gathered, looking down at the rest of the city below. It was both a charming place to be, and a place that would call for heavy Redemption. Though I was intrigued by the number of arcades that ran nightly and daily. The metro trams ran overhead, rather than below ground! These skyscrapers could play ads through their window panes alone! People were happy. People were overindulgent here.
But that's not what I came for. Behind a massive monument peaking in the sky, I found the School of the Ascendant. The personal university of the Twin Educators, the Gods of Knowledge and School. Sincere Sasaki, and Sincere Satomi, who were said to be from Yongesia. Immigrant deities, the brother and sister now came to rule a piece of Easterlind, alongside their neighbor, the already established Nickleim, who is God of Commerce.
Entering this grand place of learning was rather easy, actually. Visitation to the campus was allowed, as students often had family come to see them. But, once enrolled, all students had to live at the School until their graduation. There was no joke when it came to protocol. The protocols and codes of the School were absolute. This was not just any university or college ran Immortals. This was a School ran by the two Gods who claimed to rule the very concept. They are incredibly intelligent, and even strive to embody such a notion.
But it was immediately apparent to me why protocol was so heavily valued here.
I saw a variation of the Trinity's flag flying over the School.
The Emperor's Kingdom ruled everything in Shengesia. Even the School of the Ascendant was no different. I had fears that the Trinity was exerting a tight stranglehold over the schooling systems, in order to twist them to their own benefit. After all, the greatest propaganda machines are schools.
