As you look through the cabinets and tables. You see the students and other teachers are huddled together, looking scared and uncertain. They have heard the noise and are worried about what's happening outside.
the principal approaches the group and tries to sound reassuring.
"Everyone, it's okay. We're safe for now. We've treated a man who was injured, and we're keeping a close eye on the situation outside. But we need to stick together and stay calm."
One of the students, a young girl, speaks up. "What's happening? Why can't we leave? Why is there a mist outside?"
You see Ted take a deep breath and try to explain the situation as best you can. "We're not sure what's happening outside. But we're safe inside the school, and we have food and water. We just need to be patient."
Another student speaks up. "I'm scared. What if whoever is outside tries to get in?"
"We're doing everything we can to keep everyone safe. We have the doors locked, and we're checking on the situation regularly. If anything changes, we'll be ready to act." says Ted calmly
The students and teachers begin to calm down, and the mood in the cafeteria starts to lighten. People begin to chat with each other, and some of the students start to play games to pass the time. You know it's not ideal, but you're relieved that everyone is feeling a little better.
Eventually, you find what you were looking for. A kitchen knife. Not the best thing but enough to make a difference. You pocket it and just when you are about to turn you see the principal giving you a look of concern.
"Are you sure it's a good idea to have a knife?" she asks.
You nod. "It's just for protection. I want to make sure we're prepared for anything."
The principal nods and agrees. "Okay, but be careful with it. Let's keep monitoring the situation and stay safe."
Together, you and the principal make rounds, checking the doors and windows. Eventually your worst fears become reality.
You see a man, break the window with a rock and starts to get inside. Panic sets in.
His eyes are wild and bloodshot. He rambles not making any sense. With a rock on his hand he charges at you.
You quickly pull out the knife and hold it out in front of you. "Stay back!" you shout. The man doesn't seem to listen, so you step forward and brandish the knife in a threatening manner.
The man stops, looking at the knife and then back at you. You can see that he's disoriented and doesn't seem to be in control of his actions.
You slowly back away, keeping the knife between you and the man. The other people in the room are huddled together, watching the situation unfold.
The man doesn't back away and keeps moving towards you, mumbling. You can't make a sense of it. But he is coming closer. You have to do something.
