“Brother…” TalOS felt an irritation quake through his body as Machine Spirits began rattling on the cost and benefits of this proposal. It was a damning feeling knowing that his machine spirits did not understand the human factor of this transaction. In the end TalOS wondered if his Brother held the same ignorance, “I will not accept, I need approval before I can do this.”
The anger that seemed to have ebbed away from Fulgrim began to ignite once more as he heard such a reply, “You would ignore a request of our Father? Do your people not see him as some godly being?!”
“He is seen as the Omnissiah, not the Machine God.” TalOS fired back with a thin line taking his tongue, “What you have suggested to me can amount to Treason Fulgrim. You might not see it as that but it is. Kalbor Hal is the Fabricator General of Mars and my sovereign. I will not betray that for some petty view of men that you and Horus hold. Only if he desires me in that position will I consider it.”
“You would place this man above you!?” Fulgrim spoke with both anger and confusion that was so perfectly blended TalOS knew many would study it for decades.
“I do, as should you.” TalOS said as he leaned in close, “We act not in the interest of ourselves but humanity. You build an Empire for the Imperium of Man. The sooner you learn this the more that you realize that my position is the eventual end of your Crusade.”
“You might be a genius of the battlefield and a powerful magician of science,” Fulgrim began as he looked upon TalOS firmly, “But you lack an understanding of reality. We are Primarchs, perfect beings that were created to guide humanity. The Emperor will not throw us down in favor of the common rabble. Mark my words, TalOS, you know I am right~”
TalOS could not help but laugh when he heard those words, “Time will make a fool of you Fulgrim just as I have made you a fool today. We may be immortal against time but not against the blade. It may happen all at once, or maybe we will leave one after another with hundreds of years making those gaps. The question is when. For now, though, get off my planet.”
TalOS watched as the Stormbird that he attacked came back and began picking up both his brother and his sons. There was no ceremony or admonishment that needed to be done for his brother’s leave. Fulgrim had run TalOS’s good graces thin.
It was at this moment TalOS knew that he would not get along with all of his brothers. They will not be the yes-man that was Horus or the beastial understanding of Leman Russ. They did not share interests like Ferrus Manus or a common understanding like Alpharius.
TalOS was fine with that. It just meant there were people whom he needed to defend against if war ever occurred.
