Just as you suspected. These creatures appear in old houses and abandoned mills, in dark attics, and in caves and holes beneath the sides of roads, and under rickety old bridges. They make noises at night to scare people away- as they feed off dust and cobwebs and would starve if someone cleaned up the places where they live. They are basically a grown up kind of gremlin- so weak even a child could scare one away.

Your confidence evaporates as the monsters advance towards you. You can honestly say you've never seen this before; but then again, in the most darkest and abandoned of places Knockers can become more aggressive. You've never heard of one killing a person but... sometimes people come back with scratches they can't explain from a dark room or place, or trip and fall and hurt themselves. You guess Knockers can be aggressive some times. But there's no more time for speculation as the Knockers attack!
<span class="mu-s">COMBAT RULES</span>
Roll a d20 in <span class="mu-i">one</span> category for <span class="mu-i">one</span> character. Each character can attack and defend in combat. Characters without an attack roll don't attack, and characters without a defend roll have no defense and are considered surprised or frozen in place. Characters inflict damage and take damage based on their physical ability, equipment, and positioning as arbitrated by the QM. For example, in this combat, Elly is in the back position and has no weapon except for a torch, so attack rolls may be largely unnecessary for her. Jon has decent armor and these enemies lack dangerous weapons, so a defense roll may not be necessary for him either, and so on.
With this system, it may be best to keep a mid or low roll for a character and focus on attempting a higher roll for a more important character who can either have a greater impact <span class="mu-i">or</span> is in more danger.
You can roll a d20 by typing “dice+1d20” in the options field. The highest roll in each category for each character will be used.
