The the north is an especially mountainous and cold area, and to the south are some larger islands. There are rumours of a ESPECIALLY large island to the far, far east, beyond the 'Eastlands', but they're highly speculative.... And while rising up to the moon, cloud cover would have hidden it from his eyes, if it is indeed there. All of them are on a flat (technically slightly concave) plane with a circular edge where water turns to cloud on contact, and where consequently fog is so thick nobody dares sail.
