>>5655114At first glance, Sylvain and Felix appear to have not changed much in their personalities since your time together at Garreg Mach. Sylvain is still as much of a womanizer as ever, while Felix is still reserved, blunt and to the point.
“Sorry you had to go through that in there, Blair.” Sylvain says apologetically. “Dimitri’s heart is in the right place, but he’s been through a lot since the battle at the monastery all those years ago. I understand that he can be a bit hard to talk to. But trust me when I say that you and the Blackwings are a much needed and welcome addition to our band here. We all heard about your battle with the Almyrans at Fodlan’s Locket. You’ve really gone and made a name for yourself!”
>“Thank you, but there’s no need to apologize. I suppose it’s only natural that Dimitri should regard me with some measure of suspicion given my proximity to Claude over the last year. Still, what do the two of you think? Would you be willing to battle alongside the Alliance? If Lord Rodrigue’s estimate of 10,000 soldiers is accurate, that’s a major numerical disadvantage we find ourselves in. Even if the majority of the enemy were conscripts, we’d have a hard time cutting through them to make it to Edelgard.”“I suggest you end that line of thinking there.” Felix says. “Partnering with the Alliance has been a subject of great debate around here, and it does have its merits. Ultimately though, it’s Dimitri’s decision, and it won’t be happening. We’ve petitioned the Alliance for aid in the past, only to be met with denials and claims that they had their own problems to deal with. Now that the Knights of Seiros have saved them from collapsing overnight, they seek to reach out and join hands? It’s obvious that Claude is only now giving us the time of day because he stands to gain from the Empire’s defeat at Gronder.”
“Dimitri believes that Claude wishes to use us as a battering ram against the Empire.” Says Sylvain. “To soften them up so that he can then swoop in and take the victory. Honestly, he might be right. I can’t say that guy ever seemed like the altruistic type back at Garreg Mach. If his plan worked, then the Alliance would have the strongest and freshest military in Fodlan. Claude may seem like a nice guy, but he isn’t the type to just sit back and do nothing with that power. We’d be trading in one Edelgard for another.”
>“Does that mean that we intend to fight the Alliance out there as well?”Felix shrugs. “As long as they don’t get in our way, I don’t really care what they do. But if they become a threat to the Kingdom, then I’m fully prepared to cut them down, same as if they were imperial soldiers.”
>“So, it would be a three-way battle out there. The loss of life on all sides would be immense.”
