>>5898489>>5898437>Request assistance from the guardsmen. If it comes to your unfortunate duty, you'll just have to cross that bridge when you get there.Although by their estimation the desperate task they are set upon is more important, for your help in securing the access hub the surviving group of Militarum are willing to lend you support when you ask for it. Not much, just a pair of guardsmen, but then they don't have much to give. If you are taking the heavy bolter though then they have no reason the keep the remaining ammo so that's a positive. As for your path ahead, well you first have to actually get into the enginarium. Some help from those able of the whole squad is good enough there, as you use an emergency interface to open the massive cathedral-like doors partway; an indiscriminate volley of lasfire through the opening followed up by several tossed grenades, and the bolter to mop up. All there was, were those orks who temporarily retreated within to avoid the heavy boltfire so they weren't prepared for an advance like this.
<span class="mu-b">"I would prefer to avoid further confrontations which we are ill-prepared for."</span>
<span class="mu-s">"Sorry Priestess but if I see a greenie I'm shooting."</span>
Upon your entry to the enginarium though making your way over the few dead orks, the travel further is thankfully without much trouble. Although this is unfortunately due to the fact that the Orks forced their entry clearly awhile ago and subsequently rampaged their way through the vast and sanctified Mechanicus quarters, it means the bulk of those who attacked this wing of the vessel are further within than you have the risk of encountering... by your advanced listening you're aware of their distant hostility. Probably fighting their way through your fellow Omnissian kin. Would that you and Master Voss had been here from the outset to help repel the attack, but there's nothing you can do now besides your intended task.
Though there's still a few straggler orks here and there, same as before in the travel here from your own quarters, you do your best to avoid them. It's not too difficult given the vast scale of the enginarium and the significant noise from many still-active machines, that the xenos have not yet turned their blasphemous green hands to. Beyond that, you also have your augmented hearing and Meri's surveying to both listen and watch out for enemies nearby, respectively. What few orks you can't avoid, the three of you are able to dispatch between lasfire or the bolter as need be.
