Feeling the pain in his flesh Lucian watched as something emerged out of the forest. He thought for a moment it was one of those beastmen who he had followed here. The creatures seeing a man at his moment of weakness to take advantage of him.
Instead it was the two persons who he had helped.
Lucian finally took in what the people looked like. Their faces were like his, except they had some markings etched upon their faces that were blue. If Lucian had to guess they appeared to be swirls, like what happens when a large amount of water falls down a drain. Their hair was both long and a striking red, clean kept from great care.
Just as he saw them, the stick that was holding him up snapped.
“Th-thank you!” One of them said as they rushed to Lucian’s side, grabbing him, “Great warrior thank you! The monster almost had our lives if it was not for your rescue!”
Lucian tried to speak for a moment, but found the pain came quickly when he tried. It was a fact that was not so quickly ignored as every movement now seemed to accent the pain. And it was a true pain, one that Lucian had only felt once before when his skull was cracked when he first fought von Carstein.
“He’s been struck by its Blood Bile.” Lucian realized the other had a strikingly deeper voice as he kneeled next to Lucian’s side, “We need to get him back to the village. He might die if we don’t.”
“I…” Lucian felt anger swell as he spoke to counter the pain, “I won’t die from this. I only die when Morr says to.”
“You can believe it all you want but attacking a Jabberslythe like you did means it was going to splash on you.” The man said as he got himself underneath Lucian.
Lucian walked with the man for a few paces, feeling the pain only grow now that he was no longer so ready to fight. It was like losing the high of the Drengi Rune, only far more debilitating.
>Let them take him to their village
>Demand they take him to a lake
>Chase the beast, they shall!
