The two of them traveled through the Forgespire with a squad of Steel Wardens and Thousand Sons at either of their sides. TalOS could feel the glances that Magnus made towards him, the attention of the Psyker causing TalOS’s soul to swell with the distinct taste of his brother’s essence.
TalOS wondered if his brother realized he was next to a predator? Or was it that Magnus was confident in his abilities to fight off TalOS. If it was the later then it was hubris of the greater degree, but if he trusted TalOS not to strike out against him then that was the honor of respect.
Respect that TalOS was not his foe and that the Pariah that stood as anathema to Magnus’s very existence will keep himself tame.
TalOS would not bring such a topic up, he determined. To do so might quickly bring about battle between the two of them. Animosity was not something that TalOS wanted to spark now of all times.
It was during these thoughts that Magnus finally spoke, “Brother you are thinking too long and hard. Has something of great import plagued your mind?”
TalOS gave himself a few seconds of thought to bring the response, “While the item at hand is of some import, it is something that I myself should find.”
“I see, sorry to interupt your thoughts with my curiosity. If you can give me that forgiveness would you mind me going into other items that I have noticed.” The Psyker said as he shined a smile towards his brother.
“I will endeavor to answer your questions to the points that I am allowed or ability proves inadequate.” TalOS answered his brother while shining his own smile back at him.
TalOS could taste the confidence within his brother building as he began his words, “I have met those that are like you before, something is a little off. When I look upon you, something catches my eye.”
“There are a great many things, so I ask that you do not avoid the point. What is it that you noticed?”
“The colors on your clothing, for being a Fabricator General of this world, seem more dulled than the others.” Magnus said as his eye flickered for a moment, “As if they were somewhat darkened.”
Those words were a surprise, but not an unwelcome one.
