When surgically destroying the enemy there were a series of tools and protocols that could be used. As expected, certain kinds of bombardment were better than others in certain situations. For examine while an Atomic Bombardment and a Rad-Bombardment might have been seen as similar things but that was because standard imperial education does not fully grasp the difference between a Rad-Centric bomb and an Energy based bomb.
Energy based bombs mainly centered around heat and the generating of that from the Atom. The divine part of the universe that grants the Mechnicum so much of its already awesome power. The planet below could surely be bombarded with this weapon, but with such extreme temperatures the already precious atmosphere would become ignited and ruined.
Thus Rad-Centric bombs were sent down upon the planet. Instead of trying to reach insane temperatures and kill the enemy with raw force this bomb would have a minimal explosion. By realizing their atomic power TalOS would have organized the release of several thousand degrees of radiation across the battlefield.
In the notes of the ancients TalOS had seen one mention of this weapon being a ‘dirty bomb’. Maybe in the past where humanity was not fully blessed they would have seen such a tool like that.
To the Mechanicum however it was their primary choice for cleansing. It was not dirty, but a soup that was used to clean entire worlds.
An entire planet saturated with radiation that caused it to shake under the sheer volume of destruction. So much would be sent down upon the planet that the clouds began to turn green and a thin layer of dust was upon everything that was there. But this was not damage, it was terraforming.
Transforming even the environment of the world to become unsuitable for their enemy. For the Forces of the Mechanicum and many of the Astartes such conditions were but a trifle. For the Orks, nothing could compare their current misery to this.
As the planet was remade TalOS finally found the chance he was looking for, +Prepare the drop pods, drop sites will be routed to Machine Spirits in ten seconds. Delivery shall occur in three minutes.+
Upon those words the entire fleet began counting. They waited and watched as the transformation finally began to settle into a much more tamed environment. As TalOS declared the clearing formed, he watched as his sons, soldiers, and God Machines fell upon the planet below.
