>>6112141But the decision hadn’t been made back then and the plan was for Imswits to visit Dawnholme before the potential husband for Hilde is chosen. Maybe the feast would be the right time for it?
“Well I hope she chooses a proper husband for young Hilde.” You said to Langston. You remembered her to be a nice young woman, a friend of Malevus as well. Though Malevus befriends nearly everyone.
“I hope so too…” Langston said and was somewhat nervous.
“Alright, let’s stop talking, we have the Dark Irons to reach.” You said with a laugh. “I don’t want to keep Lord Blackmoore and others waiting as I am handling my own business.”
…
>8>1It thankfully didn’t take that long for you to see the Dark Iron caravan in the distance. Allowing your knights to catch you, you approached them with a slow walk and observed what you saw.
A squad of Dark Irons in their typical heavy armour carried sharp blades and hammers as they marched ahead of the many ox carts. When you got closer, they signalled for the caravan to stop. You in return greeted them by raising your hand and speaking with a clear loud voice.
“I am Prince Alric Perenolde, I wish to meet Master Blacksteel if he is with you.” You said to the guards.
The Dark Irons didn’t know how to react immediately as they most likely hadn’t expected to meet you now and so one by one they gave you their stiff bows before one who was probably their leader spoke to you with his very heavily accented Common.
“Prince Perenolde, please follow me.” The Dark Iron said to you and started walking past the ox carts.
You did as you were told and rode behind the dwarf. Looking at the carts, you noticed something. Many of them were in disrepair and the tarps covering them had patched holes and other clear signs of repair. The oxen used to pull the carts looked tired and exhausted as well and the Dark Irons themselves all seemed very wary. Amongst them you did spot several women too, well it seemed to be true, dwarven women don’t have beards. Several of the oxen pulled larger carts carrying what looked like heavy tools and equipment, those seemed to be the pumps and drills used at the oil rig.
“Here, Master Blacksteel is inside.” The guard said to you as he stopped next to a familiar looking covered ox cart.
“Thank you.” You replied and turned to Langston. “Are you coming?”
“Of course Prince Alric.” Langston replied.
You jumped directly off your horse on the cart and opened the door. You had to bow quite a lot to get inside and when you raised your head, you saw a familiar face.
“Greetings Master Blacksteel.” You greeted him and realised that you had inadvertently bowed to him.
“Greetings Prince Alric.” Blacksteel said back to you. “I am sorry for we are late.”
