Albatross expected the hit, his block and counter came naturally but the assassin's blade was dodged cleanly. Slicing only empty air as the Shades jumped back.
*Whoosh*
A hammer kick threatened to smash into Albatross' head but was stopped by two steel-like arms. He flung the Shades' leg away, instinct taking over as the assassin delivered a solid strike to mook's throat into the soft vulnerable cartilage. Albatross could feel the soft palate bending sickeningly against his knuckles as the man before him grasped his neck struggling to breathe.
His knife moved quickly to reave another life but from the corner of his eye, Albatross could see the distinctive glint of gunmetal in the lamplight and braced himself as a torrent of lead washed over him. Grimaced, covering his face as he tried to weather the worst of the automatic fire and at the back of his mind he was thankful for his order's high-quality armor which soaked most of the damage.
Turning to get a bead on the shooter, Albatross had found her already running away with the nearby Shades finally getting his bearings but he had no time for rabble.

A casual vault and a practiced slash were all it took to end a nearby rifleman's life. He'd decided to ignore Albatross in favor of firing towards the group in the smoke, it had been the last mistake the man would make as he fell bleeding in a puddle of his own blood and brass. Moving like a spirit of death, the assassin flashed toward another rifleman distracted by the northern group. If the rifleman realized what was happening, he reacted too slowly to stop Albatross from grasping his head with both hands, a sickening *CRUNCH* resounded among the gunfire.
[In this symphony you are a maestro.]
[Your instrument is violence and your song is death.]
[Let your music ring like a grand melody.]
Albatross starts humming, letting go of the body which had already gone limp and collapsed in front of him. The Assassin took a moment to start bandaging his wounds, tying up the parts his armor could not stop.
