You question why your first interest was to HIRE this guy. You suppose you've hired weirder people; after all, you hired a certain mystery Man. It's probably best you wait until you learn more about him before you hire him, though.
"Hey?" You address the masked man. "Do you have a name?"
"My name is FET. I'm here doing official ETF business." He really just scrambled the letters in ETF, huh?
The man's voice almost sounds normal. It is gruff, gravelly, and deep, like you'd expect out of a seasoned agent that fights anomalies on a regular basis. Yet, you can tell something's wrong with it.
It crackles and fizzles as if it's being played on a faulty radio. It's subtle but present.
"And," Anthony snickers, "Standin' around in some random storage room is ETF business to you, sir?"
"Indeed. Any reasonable human would understand what I'm doing here." FET scoffs at Anthony's "dumb" question. "You would understand. You too have the of scars fighting battles many fights."
FET clears his throat. "I meant to say 'the scars from fighting many of your own battles.'" Excuse me. Twisted tongue, you understand, no?" FET nervously adjusts his mask.
"Uh-huh. Welp, me and my pals here are just here to talk to ya. We won't take up too much of yer time, sir."
"Of course, of course. Talking to an ETF agent is an understandable human activity."
Hidaka nudges you with her shoulder. She leans in to whisper once she's gotten your attention. "Not the weirdest I've seen. Could've easily been hired. ARC standards that low."
You snicker. Yeah, they hired YOU of all people. Well, 'hired', but that's besides the point. "You think I should give him...?" You shake the vial of JAX-874 in your hand.
"Video game buff. Would be good for it. Might be an issue for you later." Hidaka offers a half-hearted shrug. "Your choice."
"True, true." You mumble under your breath. Ideally, though, he shouldn't be hurting anyone you care about anyways. You walk up to FET and you present the vial to him.
He tilts his head at the vial. "?"
"It's a gift." You shake the vial, causing the liquid inside to slosh around. "Drink it. I need to do some tests to see how it affects humans."
FET's head perks up once he hears his explanation. His body shakes and trembles like a dog that just heard it was going to go on a walk. "Hand it to me! I shall be your test subject!"
"Knock yourself out." You toss the vial and, despite how clumsy his claws appear to be, FET easily catches it.
He lifts up his mask, briefly revealing a mangled jaw filled with black, craggy teeth. He tosses the whole vial inside his 'mouth' before lowering his mask.
The three of you stand by, watching to see what the serum might do to him.
The skin on his neck, which looked human enough at first, rapidly begins to flake off in thick and heavy sheets. A thick layer of hardened, dry skin similar to what you see on a scab replaces the skin he lost. There doesn't seem to be any other obvious changes, though.
