Rage.
Unbridled rage from most, jokes from others, fear of losing their Souls in other ‘others’. A rainbow of extreme emotions all work in tandem with a goal to cause as much pain as possible to the Demon.
The Hive revs up the Rainbow Arm, your shoulder joint struggling to suppress the additional power without blowing out of its socket.
It’s a stretch but...
You move forward, forcing the blades deeper in as you move one foot forward... then two-
>Shuk!! Shuk--!!
Two more blades slice forward, digging into your right leg, piercing through metal and digging into the sand as the Crab tries to pin you still.
You keep moving forward, letting the blades go deeper in, until the stalk of the seafood’s eye is just barely, barely within reach.
It waves to and fro, disoriented from its pain, struggling to rationalize how you’re not dead. It’s just close enough--
You rear your arm back, the one that isn’t filled with spikes.
>Tsss....
A wave of radiant exhaust filters from your elbow as you drive it forward--!!
>THUM-BOOSH!!
Particles of glass erupt and fly across the lake, creating a thousand tiny ‘splitters’ as the eyeball explodes on impact. A sickly, chunky green slime coats you, tainting the Lake’s pink water as the shell of the Mechrab rattles. It tries to back away, but its own hooks are preventing it!
You jerk your shoulder back, bringing the beast just close enough swing and pray-
You grab the other eye by the stalk, and with the last of your spiked energy, press it into the sand. It looks up at you, pupil quivering as you raise your not-pinned boot and-
>Chrk!!
-Crush it into a sputtering mess of gore underfoot. The Shell rattles and what sounds like a hellish moan drones from inside, unable to articulate anything but its inevitable, slow death.
>”Holy guacamole, that’s a somethin’ alright.”
Dolly at this point has stood up, wiping Crab-blood from her legs and flicking it onto the sand.
The creature gives another low droning moan of pain as it dies.
Slowly... slowly... it begins to sink into the Lake...
...
You start to move towards the lake.
Oh fuck, it’s beginning to sink and you’re still pinned to the damn thing!
<exclamation>Oh fuck I’m still pinned to this damn thing!
