>>5328087"Very well, Julia. Follow me." You rise from your seat, and exit your bunker compound via one of the many secret passages known only to your highest ranking spies and presidential guard. An armored car awaits you, a precaution you don't really need since you're a lich. But, you arrange for it anyways since you're hiding the fact that you're a lich. You've learned early in your lichdom that immortality attracts too much undue attention. To your populace, you're just an eccentric dictator who ruled with an iron fist, and you've heard conspiracy theories saying that you're multiple people in succession, a robot, and even two goblins stacked together. Hah! Let them speculate.
Soon, you arrive at the Army Headquarters just outside of your capital, Materia City. You and Julia enter the war room, your steps confident. Seated on the other end of the circular table are General Kombassa Johnson of the army and General Clifton Ferrel of the airforce, who salute you from their seats.
"Greetings, gentlemen. You understand why I summoned you here, yes?" You ask, knowing full well they did.
"Yes, your excellency. The gang situation." General Kombassa presses a button, and a projected map of Materia City appears on the wall to your side.
"According to the Chief of Police, there are three districts where the gangs clashed. The riverside harbor district, the Favelas, and Oldtown district. It appears that the fighting is heaviest in the harbor and favelas, with the violence spilling over towards Oldtown."
He then points out towards the Favelas and Oldtown. "We need to cross these bridges if we want to enter the city."
You nod. "I see. What options do we have?"
"We could send some tanks across the bridges, and shock and awe those gangers. Or, we could deploy APCs, and have our troops secure the districts street by street." The general seems confident in his options.
"Us airforce could just send fighters in, but since we don't know where their bases are, that would just be a big pile of collateral damage. So instead, we could send our assault helicopters to assist the army - or alternatively, our air assault specialists could rappel in from the roofs of suspect buildings." General Ferrel weighs in.
"And oh, we don't need to use the bridges, obviously."
"Our men are already on standby, whichever tactic you want to use, your excellency. We are just waiting for your word." Hmm, not bad, they show initiative.
