>>5337179>Year 1182: Collapse of the KingdomEventually, you would discover the real reason why Charon was not spared any aid from the Kingdom’s Army. Ferdinand’s attack on Charon and the eastern front of the Kingdom proved to be merely a distraction. After Dimitri returned to Fhirdiad to claim the throne, his reign proved to be short-lived. Cornelia, a powerful mage in service to House Blaiddyd, had accused the newly crowned King of murdering the previous regent, his uncle, Rufus. Staging a coup d'état with the aid of an Imperial Army lead by Hubert von Vestra, Cornelia seized control overnight of the Kingdom’s western territories, declaring loyalty to the Adrestian Empire and establishing the Faerghus Dukedom. Only the eastern lords of Gautier, Fraldarius, Galatea and Charon resisted the scheme, fracturing the Kingdom into two factions.
The official story was that Dimitri had been stripped of his rank, imprisoned, and sentenced to death for his supposed crimes. The reality was much more complex. Dimitri had managed to escape his confinement with the aid and sacrifice of his retainer, Dedue, and was currently hiding in Fraldarius territory, attempting to raise enough support and resources to fight back. This news was told to you by Margrave Charon, who had a new task for you. A sizeable army of Kingdom turncoats, lead by a lord who had pledged his loyalty to the Empire, had managed to track down where Dimitri had been hiding. Much of the Eastern Kingdom’s army was tied up in battle with the Western Lords and the Imperial Army, and they were desperate. Seeing as you had already aided Dimitri once, the Margrave saw you fit for the task a second time.
Accepting the job, you and the Blackwings took off towards Fraldarius. Dimitri had been hiding in a small port town called Bulgar, where he’d been attempting to contact the Knights of Seiros, who had been scattered after the capture of Archbishop Rhea. The town had come under attack by the forces of Viscount Kleiman, a former noble of the Kingdom who had joined forces with Cornelia. With House Fraldairus and Gautier’s armies tied up in battle with the main forces of the Dukedom, it had been a simple matter for the Viscount to sail over unmolested. He mercilessly pillaged through both territories, and attacked the smaller, poorly defended town. You arrive to Bulgar during the battle.
When you arrived, you:
>A): Extracted Dimitri and facilitated a successful retreat>B): Seized the Viscount’s ships>C): Lead a successful counterattack that turned the course of the battle
