And you'll saw the last スピード and EVIGT implant for your other allies. You think that's fair. Better to use them NOW than to hog all of them.
>Each ally gains an implant! You're left with one EVIGT and スピード implant!
>As for the other LOOT, seems the silvers here were in a rush. All they had of value was 10 SILVER AMMO. You take half while Max takes the other.
>Guess they were expecting the anomaly to help a lot.
With that settled, your group splits in half. You take Max and Maruyama with you towards CONTAINMENT CELL 01-20-192, hoping that whatever is inside of it isn't too much of a nuisance. The airlock opens with ease after a bit of fiddling with the keypad.
Max takes a shaky breath, "We're pushing our luck. I know we are."
"We are." You finally speak up. "We've been pushing our luck ever since I decided to come here. Let's just make the most of it."
[STEADFAST RESOLVE] Maruyama flashes Max a warm smile, "We're fine. I know how rough this is, hell, I'm feeling my age already. But we can handle this."
>MARUYAMA gains +1 MAX RESTRAINT! Now at 8/9!
>MARUYAMA is now at 6/175! He'll gain a new ability soon! Lord, his stats and powers are rising exponentially.
[UNDYING CURIOSITY + BURNING SPIRIT] Max takes in a deep breath to ground herself. After a moment of hesitation, she nods. "You're right. No point being afraid now."
>MAX gains +1 TALENT! She's at 8 now!
>Stat sheets will be updated soon.
The airlock creaks open exposing the antechamber inside. You brace yourself with a deep breath, feeling a rush of pain flooding your chest. Your ribs still hurt like a motherfucker but you have to stay strong. For them.
The three of you enter inside the antechamber. The airlock behind you seals shut and the one in front of you opens automatically. Let's see what you're dealing with.
You were kinda expecting that one eyeball anomaly from the Church way back when and, well, you weren't wrong but you weren't right. Sitting idly in the containment cell is certainly an eyeball.
A big one. Probably the size of a small car than anything else. It has attached itself to the wall with thick white fibrous strands of something. Probably sclera if you had to guess but you weren't the best at biology back in high school. Its large orange pupil shifts to stare at the intruders that have entered its cell.
Max awkwardly waves at the anomaly. "Hey! So, uh, we're friends right? You're not going to do anything?"
The eyeball doesn't respond. It stares at Max with a passive curiosity but it doesn't seem particularly keen to DO anything to her. Aside from watching her. You almost feel like it's judging the three of you for being here yet, at the same time, it WANTS you here.
It slowly shifts its gaze to look at you. You feel your body tensing up instinctually at the sheer intensity of his gaze. You swear you see some small slits forming on the walls around the containment cell. Slits that open up into small eyeballs with piercing gazes.
All eyes on you.
