It was Chaos as the Knights and the Skitarii continued to defend the sanctified mountain of Olympius.
Mortars continued to batter the lines as many of the forces present were not protected by an Ion Shield or other forms of divine protections. Skitarii had focused their last few days in digging a trench across the side of the mountain as an attempt to combat against the enemy’s constant assault against the Mountain. For their trouble many of the workmen quickly became the targets of Mortar shots as the enemy confirmed and fired their solutions to prevent a complete defense of the mountain.
When the Mortars stopped firing the hordes emerged.
They were all a twisted form of abominations that did not appear to be reasonable or practical. Let it be wires sticking out of their flesh or several of them having additional appendages attached to their bodies for a little bit extra attack power. Another group even had weapons somehow merged with their bodies by the sinister mechanics that made their creation possible.
The Magi of the Mountain, those who fell back to protect such a Holy Site from Sacrilege, noticed that many of these creatures were once the workers of factories. Their bodies quite literally bleeding with the technological edge that the hereteks had invented in the short period of their allowed expansion.
When the Horde charged forward the fighters of the mountains answered. Knights native to Mars who had been defending with everyone else acted as artillery platforms thanks to their native armor and shields being resistant to the bombardments. When the hordes advance one would remark that the Knights who were like status would become animated and rain hell upon the incoming forces.
When the enemy got close to the mountain they would be rained upon by Galvanic and Radium fire from the Skitarii who were holding position. Their shots exploded or debilitated a large number of the horde that continued their march towards the line.
When it became dire, and the hereteks finally reached the front lines, the Proelitor who were hidden amongst the lowest trenches would make their presence known with volkite fire and chainsword.
Such was what was happening here, for unlike the great many times before where the Hereteks advanced upon Olympus with the Reaver Titan Varcarnerix. A Titan whose bloodlust was once sated upon Prospero, now it seeks to sink its fangs into the Mountain of Olympia to have another world burn.
