>Sir, I’d like permission to focus on hacking the equipment we’ve found. I’m sure there’s a reason Sienar had them hidden away, and any data we recover might turn out to be useful in the coming days.
Fabian frowns, but doesn’t immediately refuse. He takes a moment to look back at the initialled datapad, then shrugs.
“Well, alright then. But focus on getting the rest of this bounty packed up first. You can focus on Sienar’s data after that. And there better be something good, otherwise we’ll be wasting precious time.”
>Thank you, sir. I’ll get right on it.
You salute him, and he returns it before dismissing you.
Over the next hour or so you help organise the looting of the vaults, transferring their gleaming contents to waiting carts and pallets that are taken up to the surface, where Shade’s A5 Juggernauts are being cleared of all the spare room they can manage to hold the Neimoidian treasure. There’s barely enough room for it all, and the Juggernauts are overloaded, but you somehow manage to pack it all in. It’s an intensive process, made all the more stressful from the fear of an incoming separatist attack, but none comes. It looks like you might actually get to keep it.
Checking in with Fisher, who’s managing the inventory, the full load that you’ve recovered amounts to about 50 million credits worth, on top of the equipment you recovered from Sienar’s vault. You could buy a star destroyer with that amount of money. There’s also that one vault you failed to open, which probably holds another 25 million credits worth, but Fabian’s still worried about a separatist counterattack and is ordering you to leave it. Looks like those Neimoidians will get to keep at least something for themselves, if they ever return to reclaim it.
Stepping outside after all your work, you feel the cool breeze on your face as the wind starts to pick up. Above you, the skies are clear, bright blue; and if you squint your eyes you think you can even see some of the ships of the fleet up there. The valley seems oddly peaceful after the violence it was subjected to only a few hours before. The unloading of the vaults hasn’t been completed yet, but you’re no longer needed down there. So, you walk over to Goto, who’s inspecting some of the equipment you took from Sienar’s hidden room.
