The moment you try to respond, Sealsdramon lunges. You find yourself completely unbalanced by it. You expected to at least get a response in, since he seemed content to stand there menacingly and rant at you. On some subconscious level, you trusted him to maintain the flow of the conversation despite being an enemy. That moment was exactly what he was waiting for. His knife shoots towards your face, while your partner lunges forward to try and stop him. Kaus Gammamon does the same, moving swiftly and attempting to kick his legs out. He's slowed down by the injury, and can't reach him on time.
However, even that attack proves to be a feint. Instead of sinking the knife into his head and then getting mobbed by two Digimon, he stabs his tail into the ground to pivot. It's all too fast for you to even register. Sealsdramon uses the blade to parry Porcupamon's deadly claw, sliding it down its length and sending up a shower of sparks. The other arm is holding your partner's own needle. The needle that he's forgotten about amidst the chaos. With the superior reach granted by the weapon, Sealsdramon stabs directly into his chest, sinking it through a hole left by a previous injury. Porcupamon freezes up.

Kaus Gammamon finally scores a hit, causing Sealsdramon to flinch. He pushes the spike all the way in, before darting out of the way and vanishing from sight. You watch as your partner staggers back and forth, sporting a potential mortal wound.
