[MR. SATURDAY] "Gh...!"
'I don't think so!'
To defeat his gesture with mine, I appeared in a blitz just before him, as the spell released, and caught it. I felt the Death burning in my palm. But this wasn't enough Death. It was a weak Death Knell spell, only good enough for a Demigod like himself. More than enough to lay low the varieties of mortals and lower Immortals of Hainei. But to a true deity like me, useless. Useless!
[MR. SATURDAY] "Inconceivable!"

[UNHAPPY MYTHIC] "Girl?! From before?!"
[JUMPY MYTHIC] "And m-Mih-Mister Saturday!"
[UNHAPPY MYTHIC] "Wait, his skin..."
They gasped. They pointed at him.
[JUMPY MYTHIC] "A DEMON!"
I heard Mister Saturday growl.
[MR. SATURDAY] "You dare interrupt me, spinneret?! I'll flay you alive for....wait... your face..."
'Recognize it?'
[MR. SATURDAY] "Hmph..."
The Demon began to smile.
[MR. SATURDAY] "I thought it was you."
'What did you mean by that?'
[MR. SATURDAY] "Nothing you'll find out."
Mister Saturday bolted then. He stepped back, as fast as he could. I saw him, in that motion as slow as it was, like everything else around was frozen. I saw him smiling at me as he moved past dust particles so fast they seemed suspended. His hand grasped the doorknob of the door leading to the house's cellar, or a closet, whatever it was. He practically fell down the stairs behind him, smiling at me smugly as he pulled the door shut.
I realized something was up. How did he come into the house that way? If he teleported in, I would have felt it, or saw it. He just came through that door... that... door! The door!
I lunged forward, just as the door was only an inch from closing...
