The kid who'd cry over Tristain getting involved in a fight over him wouldn't now gut multiple men without blinking an eye, not in three months with only one kill to his name, no way.
Though Mystletainn undoubtedly gets a kick out of tormenting Tristain's party with snippets of his host's personality, which is why we're getting "Elric" seeping through now and then.
