Lucian did not wish to flee, for to flee was a fool’s errand. They would simply run him down and kill him. Not even discounting the fact that no Knight would allow himself to be disrespected by showing his ass to the enemy.
So Lucian did the next best thing.
“For Morr and the Lady!” Shouted Lucian as he charged forward with his stick in hand.
He expected them to attack him. To throw themselves into combat to slaughter his person. An engagement of a brutal massacre that would result in his death here and now. He had no blessing, but even Peasants would throw themselves upon the enemy.
These creatures were not however. Instead as the Knight charged upon them the Beastmen scattered in a direction further across the open beach. The Noble of Bretonnia, found with the fervor of his homeland, found himself on the chase as he roared with as much anger as he could.
He was a man, he was a noble, and he was a Knight! Charge he shall, charge and slaughter all that came across him! Even when faced with certain death Lucian will not back down from a challenge.
Those beastmen were faster than Lucian, but their animal mutations did not make them better than man. If anything compared to Lucian, who even unblessed is the pinnacle of man, they were lethargic and poor in diet. Where they seemed to nearly fall through the fogs Lucian was now gaining ground on them.
He knew he had them. The fools staying outside the forest made it so that even a lone human could get to them. Yes Lucian was worn, yes he was feeling haggard, but Lucian was a Knight of Bretonnia! He will not stop until he smashed their heads in.
Yet he seemed to not get that chance as for just a second Lucian lost sight of them. Thinking that they were just behind the cloud he charged through it, only to find that they were gone.
In their place, though, was a scene he did not expect.
