Fleet Master Copernicon puts down his helmet on your table and then activates a holo-display.
>Chapter Master, as we suspected, Brohmidae was a turning-point in the first phase of our Crusade. But this is not time to pat ourselves on the back. Our victory is a lesson to our enemy and the shifty bastards are already adapting. We must than the servoheads down in the naval intelligence department for cracking the numbers of the known Styrian vessel sightings and correlating that information with whatever Tesalia D'Anger was able to provide us with. It seems they trust her less and less, but she still remains useful for the time being. Long story short, the enemy is changing their footing from seeking to defeat us in battle to harassing our supply lines with hit-and-raid tactics. They understand that we have gained a foothold now and your clever diplomacy has managed to get Brohmidae on our side as a cooperative asset, rather than a festering wound, which makes it crucial for us in terms of assuring resupply, repairs and rear support staging ground. We can expect that Styrian navy will now splinter into a number of small tactical groups which will try to intercept our transportation vessels, bait our capital ships into breaking formation and also possibly even trying to raid Imperial worlds back in the Sector Deus itself. We suspect that they will still try to defend their core worlds, but unless we penetrate straight into the dark heart of this wretched rebel empire, they will keep out of our sights and mostly try to bleed us by hitting us in the back. They do have multiple advantages here - they know these warp lanes much better than we do, they also are using those strange warp-music harmonic sorceries to their advantage and they are going to hit our ever longer supply lines to the Imperium, as Brohmidae on its own won't supply us with everything we need.Brethorius nods while listening to Copernicon.
>Aye. So what you are saying is, they will bleed us if we wait for too long?>Indeed. We have the initiative, but our stronger fleet advantage has now been spent and we should not expect decisive battles anytime soon, unless we force them into one somewow.
