The War against the Rangdan was finished.
All information from the north was now scrubbed and an order was sent out to everyone. That all records of Ferrus Manus were to be removed as their brother’s sin was tantamount. In addition to this the Tenth Legion was to be culled of all members for they had commit a great many crimes during the war.
TalOS understood well enough what likely happened. The Psychic connection that Ferrus had with his sons must have forced many of them to turn against those fighting. And the Tenth were swarming that battlefield in a vain attempt to recover their Father.
The Fabricator General wondered what kind of crime his brother must have committed. Was it the simple betrayal, a transformation into some monster, or maybe something far more sinister was at play that TalOS did not know. TalOS had a moment’s thought which generated a simple reasoning, that the remembrance of Ferrus Manus was to the detriment of the Imperium.
They were all dealing with some force of C’Tan after all, that much TalOS was guessing since the Emperor brought the Machine God to the northern front. Such a being must have played with reality in such a way that memory gave it power.
When the Psykers and Priests came to Lucius to purge any memory of Ferrus Manus from the data vaults TalOS did not stop them. While it saddened him to forget a brother TalOS understood too well now what Knowledge could give influence within one’s mind. Thus he purged it.
The Legion of the Tenth would have been culled if it had not been for the voices of Rogal Dorn and Roboute Guilliman. The two of them argued that such a massive loss of life would ultimately harm the Imperium, thus they petitioned and got permission to indoctrinate these Legionnaires into their forces.
Rogal Dorn only want a portion for his own forces, a select few that he thought would be useful. Roboute Guilliman thought otherwise and took those that Dorn did not wish to have. It was this that caused the Ultramarines to swell. There had been others who argued against this stating that the Ultramarines should not have such an honor, but Guilliman paid each of these brothers a boon so that he can have what he secured. Some, such as the Lion, still did not see the light of Guilliman’s reason.
TalOS ultimately did not care, he had far more than what Guilliman managed now. While the Ultramarines were over a hundred thousand now TalOS had thousands of Knights and millions of Skitarii in addition to his Proelitors.
