Whatever spell she had casted on Lucian was sinking into him. He could feel his flesh ache in pains and shiver as if a fever had taken him. It twisted his guts causing his mortal body to feel the nausea of a trip that has never been taken before. In his heart, in his very soul, Lucian could feel the magics working themselves against him.
It was not hurting him, not directly, for she had not yet been able to send such a spell. Instead she simply hexed him with a quick spell in hopes that it would save her unlife.
Lucian watched her hands reflexively run across her ruined dress where the wound Lucian had dealt her resided. He could not help but grin as she realized the Knight got a blow upon her.
“No mortal shall harm a Von Carstein!” She declared as her hands rose towards Lucian, “This was the truth Vlad told me and I shall prove him right! If it means killing all of you then I shall!”
Lucian leaped forward, his body unsteady from the Soulblight that she had placed upon him. The Ruin of Dregni and his own will was fighting the witchery, giving him plenty of strength to stand and fight for her. Yet when she extended her hands to strike down Lucian it looked so fast.
His experience from a great many battles involving beings greater than he flowed into his muscles. With only the strength of a mortal man who foolishly challenged a Jabberslythe, it was the experience of how he survived such an encounter. Lucian threw himself to the side and avoided the blow, getting just far enough away from the Vampire to make another strike, this time against her back.
It felt like hitting stone. An impossible feat. Yet he still committed himself to the strike and dug the blade deep through what he could that was upon her back. It was a distasteful but poignant display of his talents when the greater amount of her dress was cut in two.
As quickly as she came upon him she moved back, safe from the reaction of Lucian’s scythe when doing so.
“I tire of all this! I shall show you the power of the Von Carsteins! The Magics Vlad, our Father has taught. The magics that he was taught by none other than Nagash himself!” Shouted the Vampire as she basked in the light of Morrslieb.
Underneath his feet, Lucian felt the air begin to stir.
