Until recent years, the children viewed themselves as a part of the Protavic people, no matter how much their customs diverged. With the creation of this new identity, they threaten to bring about disharmony and create a rift between themselves and the traditional beast-bringers, where there was none before. The leaders of the tribe believe that this barrier must be brought down before it can grow any stronger – the Anamilivic are still Protavic, no matter what they call themselves, and both they and those opposed to them must realise this.
Those who are too elderly to perform labour are assigned a new role – they must not only tend to the education of their grandchildren, but they must go forth and teach their ways to those who do not follow them. Those who are children must educate the Protavic, and those who are beast-bringers must educate the Anamilivic. These wandering teachers are called the vibruc and they are protected by tribal law – those who hear their words must heed them and grant them hospitality, or risk punishment.
A visit from a vibrul could be considered disruptive, as his hosts are compelled to abandon their labour to provide him with food and shelter and listen to his wisdom for as long as he remains. However, this informal education system will eventually produce results – the rift between the Anamilivic and the Protavic people will close as the two groups begin to learn from one another. The children shall rediscover the importance of cunning and supremacy, while the beast-bringers shall learn the value of religiosity and acceptance.
While the replacement of the “true” Protavic people remains inevitable, hopefully the Anamilivic will be worthy successors when that time comes.
A generation passes.
The Protavic are not the only people being influenced by the Anamilivic. After several generations of allowing worthy outsiders to join their caste, roughly half of the Vuvovic warriors follow the ways of the children, rather than the traditional customs of the blood-drinkers. Their blood rites aren't nearly as excessive and they bring with them an affinity for animals that they inherited from the beast-bringers.
