“Boss, do you really like these suck-ups?” Copilot thug doesn’t like either of you in the slightest.
“Keep your teeth next to each other for a smile or I’ll take them all out for you.” Bodil hates being interrupted. “You’re not the one chasing after the Bray kid, so be quiet and thankful.”
“Yes, Boss…” Copilot thug decides it’s time to stop putting his life in danger.
“You need to know when to shut up, man.” The driver thug whispers to his buddy.
“The other bee is a politician. An old friend of mine from my college days before I decided to make a living out of smashing skulls.” Bodil remembers fondly the skull smashing, not the college days... “My friend Ayde used to be a stand-up man, but the game he got in doesn’t let ‘stand-up’ guys prosper without using the house rules. My family is helping take his trade foes out from the playing field.” Bodil looks pissed. “And you know what we just found out? He’s making deals with another family within the clan because we’re too small time for him. Can you believe it?! He’s joining forces with the Youhao Family! The guy in charge is gunning for the top seat, that’s the big difference. It’s mob stuff. Mama knows you find this boring.”
“Mama Bodil, don’t underestimate your abilities! You’re a good storyteller!” You say with enthusiasm.
“But if you don’t think it’s important, we can skip it! Mama knows best!” Vera plays along.
“Right on, I do! You have no idea how boring that Youhao is! He makes it all about money, respect and efficiency, but where’s the fun in that? None of that is real.” Bodil shakes her head and sits back. “So in short, I have two men who disrespected me deeply who need to be taught a lesson. We need to know where Scott left the people who he was supposed to kill, and maybe destroy his kneecaps. And we need Ayde to break all links with the clan, and let him fail on his own… then we’ll destroy his kneecaps.”
“Oh boy, that sounds like it’d hurt…” You don’t know how to sound enthusiastic about that.
“Don’t try to force a smile, kid. But thanks.” Bodil pats your head.
