>>5179122It's at times like these where you are grateful for having the element of surprise to rely on. None of them have seen your face. Your helm and new armor, though slightly dented from being ragdolled by Barnham, makes it incredibly easy for you to hide in anonymity. Neither Guts or Farnese believe you are still alive, so you had the option of masking your identity, unless either of them could recognise your voice.
Well, you've learned how to coat your armor with Od at this point, so maybe you don't even need to hide your identity. Just prove you're the real Vlad Santana and that you have magical powers that you've used for good. Even if the holy knights can't see magic, you're pretty sure Guts would notice the effects given how many years he's been fighting the astral demons. Surely that'll catch him off guard enough for him to stagger a bit, but doing so would make him a sitting duck for the knights to kill him. Given the state he's in, even a single strike from Lady Farnese would take him down, so provided he's still stronger than you, you can knock him down a second time, but at what cost?
One hit doesn't mean anything if you cant strike him where it matters. He's already running circles around the knights and killing them with no room for thought, so likely you won't get a second to regret your mistakes, because he will demolish you when he acknowledges you as a threat. Serpico and Azan might give you the benefit of the doubt for helping them apprehend the so called agent of darkness, even if Guts might not be the main threat for the long run, but interacting with Farnese now that she's made a habit out of killing infidels will be like walking on eggshells, even if you did her job for her, there's no guarantee that she'll lend you an ear before melting you with a torch.
"That monster! No doubt about it, he's the one that killed those children!"
"What inhumane strength! We can't possibly win this!"
These knights should probably thought about that before trying to sneak in a backstab at a former Band of The Falcon commander...
Regardless, a massacre will soon begin, followed by an even bigger murder spree if you don't stop this mindless fight between Guts and Farnese, and after brainstorming as much as you could in this short amount of time, you went with the best possible option from your point of view. Afterall, it was either that, or staying idle while you wished for peace.
And peace does not stem from inaction.
