“To think, he was this strong.” you mutter to yourself, clutching at the hole in your guts as the tear through space and time closes behind you. Spitting you back out where you'd been before the Time Ring pulled you through to chase Marron down, falling out of the sky and landing on the dome roof of the building below. The impact causing pain to course throughout your body, violent coughs wracking your body. “Gah! D-Dammit. Is... Is this really how I die? On a worthless world like this?”
Your vision starts to blur and darken, you struggling to remain conscious as your vision goes darker and darker. But right as you're about to give up hope, suddenly you feel familiar power surge throughout your body. Eyes snapping open you look down to see a familiar face, in fact your own face. Or, rather, the face you were born with.
“Z-Za...maaa...su?” you mutter weakly, seeing your other self look from your injury back up to your face.
“Well well. Did that mortal finally get the better of you?” Zamasu asks, smirking smugly as he looks down on you. “This is quite the wide slash inside your guts. How did you let her best you?”
“Wa-Wasn't her.” you manage to get out, feeling your strength return as Zamasu finishes healing you. “Ahhh, that feels better. Thank you.”
“Wasn't her? Don't tell me you somehow did this to yourself?” Zamasu asks, you standing back up and stretching arms overhead, sighing out.
“No. She somehow fled through space and time, with some strange machine stored in this building.” you gesture below you, before raising your right hand up to eye level, looking at it. “The Time Ring allowed me to follow her, but it was a trap. She somehow found it, found HIM.”
“Wait, who?” he asks, not knowing who you mean. “Who is 'him'?”
“I found the one <span class="mu-i">she</span>'s looking for.” you say, Zamasu's eyes widening.
“Wait, you-! That was HIM?! You fought him and SURVIVED?!!” he exclaims, eyes widening in terror. “How did you escape?”
“As I was fighting him, the Time Ring called me back to this time.” you say, looking down at the ring on your right hand's index finger. “Perhaps it could sense the danger Karn presented? Thankfully, it pulled me from that time before I could sustain any more devastating damage.”
“We have to tell her immediately.” Zamasu says, your immortal recruit looking equal parts worried and excited. “If we're the ones to call this in, she'll be so thankful to us!”
