>>5177991You would have time for conversation later. You then turned towards the next person, a very beautiful maiden with golden hair and blue eyes. She was young and quickly did a curtsy before you with great grace while the baron introduced her.
-Lady Rose Takable, she lives in the north west of my lands.
You bowed to her and smiled. You had heard about her from Oldfossil and knew that her father, killed by the baron, was a friend of Lord Random.
-My lady.
-My Lord.
Time was not for speaking more because the Baron led you to a man in his fourties of average height who was near an identical man but twenty years younger. Both had beards and brown hair and brown eyes, the old man wore a golden collar with some gems on his chest. The baron introduced them.
-Lord Swiss Neutralsson, Lord of Neutral, in the South West of the Barony, and his heir Lord Swede Neutralsson.
You greeted them with a quick and polite salute, they had normally a good relationship with Lord Random even if you lived at the two opposite sides of the barony. And the Neutral Lord was the most powerful vassal of the Baron.
The next man that you met was in his fourties too all dressed in purple, a sign of wealth, with short black hair and a moustache. He was built like a warrior and if he was a bit shorter than you he seemed to have wider shoulders. This powerfully built man looked at you from his pig like eyes and sneered. You sneered too while the Baron introduced you.
-Lord Salty Rival, Lord of Rival.
You all greeted each other with a polite bow but you saw that this man hated you before having ever seen you. You were the heir of Lord Random for him and he was the sworn enemy of Lord Random. Such were politics, family feuds could be long and bloody.
The next man to be introduced was a man who looked at you with blank eyes and an inscrutable air. He was in a rather simple garb and was bald. He had cold, blue eyes who seemed to scrutinise you. He saluted you first, before being introduced, symbol that he was under you in the hierarchy of vassals.
-Lord Creepy Bitchson, Lord of Darkplace. Rewarded with this lordship for his loyal service.
The man seemed to bow to the baron to thank him and you understood that this meant that the baron trusted him. In plus of being a wizard this baron gave fiefs to commoners and trusted them more than the old nobility ! Unfortunately it was true in France too, the advice of Marigny and his lackeys being more heard by the king than the good Charles of Valois.
And at the end another man, in strange robes and with a baton, instead of the swords of the other male noblemen, looked at you and bowed. He was a quite young man with fiery red hair. He looked at you, trying to find a weakness while the baron introduced him.
-And Lord Fors Hostil, Lord of Hostil, and Pyromancer of the Mage’s Guild !
Pyromancer ? What does this meant ? Whatever, he will burn on a pyre anyway you thought while you saluted him.
