When the Federation Negotiated with the world it was not through the arm of power but instead a political sort. Such a reason was because those that willingly joined the Federation were to gain voting rights within the greater organization. Thus it was unwise to bully people into the conglomerate lest they are a source of rot within the foundation.
That was the reason Bribery was the most effective play on a planet. The use of money to entice a planet into compliance was one that made people favor the network that gave them those allowances in the first place. They will vote in favor of the ruling class and thus stability was kept.
For this civilization neither of these were acceptable. Thus all ships within the system under the Mechanicum control left and a lone Servitor Craft was left behind to give the message.
+You have rejected our attempts at peace, not realizing the truth of the matter was that you are already ours. We shall hereby enforce compliance upon the Estig and all Client Worlds within the system. Total Compilation is the only acceptable course of action to avoid annihilation. Respond at any time, but know that it will be to surrender.+
As that message was fed into the system the warp at the edge of the system fluctuated. Tearing through reality was the largest ship that anyone within the system had ever seen and they could feel its presence across distant worlds. As the rift closed the numerous ships that were within the hull released themselves into the void and formed into a battleline so that they can march towards the systems in a supportive manner.
There was an obvious fear within the navy of the enemy as they starred upon the magnificence of the Blackstone Fortress. Their fleets quickly broke their defensive ranks in a vain attempt to flee the incoming super-carrier. What they found instead was numerous ships coming in from all sides of the system which had delayed their arrival just long enough to strike as they fled into their hands.
The battle was bloody for the natives of this system.
Not a single Mechanicum vessel was lost as coordinated fire tore into the thrusters of the natives and then their hulls. Guns and the like were destroyed allowing for the extraction of the crew upon the Lucian Vessels.
The Forges were always hungry for the flesh of man.
